When it comes to cookies, America has a love affair with the classic: chocolate chip. There has been much debate on what makes this iconic sweet treat the best. To clear the air, we've taken a neutral approach; we will share the different ingredients and techniques that can change the texture, flavor, and consistency of a chocolate chip cookie.
We are big proponents of anything pineapple here at ShahSquared, so it only makes sense that we would take the most iconic dessert - pineapple upside down cake - and find some quirky, fun alternatives. For those unfamiliar with the cake, it begins with a simple caramel, pineapple rings, and maraschino cherries placed in the bottom of a cake pan. The fruit is topped with a yellow cake and baked until golden brown. The cake is flipped while warm to reveal the caramelized fruit and served á la mode (at least in our house).
